About Us
The Warkworth Branch Pony Club is located at the Warkworth Showgounds which is just a few minutes north of Warkworth on SH1. Our grounds are extensive, we have a practice grass arena and have plenty of space for show jumping, dressage and we have a fixed cross country course.
Rallies are held regularly through the season and our riders are offered many opportunities to work towards NZPCA certifications and participate in pony club events.
We've been around for a while…
Warkworth Pony Club began as The Rodney Pony Club which was founded on September 12, 1949. The first rally was held on Quayle's Farm on Kaipara Flats Road (now the home of Horse Riding Warkworth) and between 70 to 80 enthusiastic equestrians attended. After a number of years the rallies were held on the permanent grounds of the Rodney Agricultural Society's Showgrounds which is today The Warkworth Showgrounds where we still happily are.
